Votes for Women!

This half term the children have been learning all about the changing role of women through history. They have found out how women with differing social status' have experienced life through the ages: from 11th century to today. Many of the children were shocked to discover that during the Victorian ages, women of a good social standing were not allowed to cross a room unaccompanied, or wave at their friends across the road. They were also fascinated to find out all about the trials and struggles that women and their allies went through to win the right to vote; and, have been thinking a lot about whether society today is fair and equal for all.
