Stopsley Community Primary School
After School Club Assistant (FLAG)

We are currently recruiting for two After School Club Assistants to join our FLAG Club.

(1) Monday - Friday
3.30pm – 4.30pm (5 hours)
L1a scale point 6
£15,014.00 (£1,705.10 pro rata)
Term time only (38 weeks)

(2) Monday – Friday
3.00pm – 6.00pm (15 hours)
L1a scale point 6
£15,014.00 (£5,115.22 pro rata)
Term time only (38 weeks)

 Closing Date: Monday 17th July 2017

Interview Date: Friday 21st July 2017

The successful candidate will:

  • Be enthusiastic, caring and approachable
  • Have experience of working with primary age children
  • Have excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be able to interact well with both children and parents
  • Be able to work collaboratively with colleagues
  • Be subject to an enhanced criminal record disclosure
  • Hold a Paediatric First Aid qualification (or be willing to undertake one)
  • Hold a Food Hygiene qualification (or be willing to undertake one)
  • Have a thorough knowledge and understanding of safeguarding children
  • Most importantly willing to have fun and enjoy working with children.

Key Responsibilities

Support in the smooth running of the FLAG Club by:

  • Providing a safe, stimulating and happy environment for pupils
  • Supervision of pupils including on arrival and departure and visits to the toilet
  • Setting up equipment and ensuring that the setting is left clean and tidy at the end of each session
  • Contribute to the planning and preparation of activities
  • Monitoring the safety of pupils whilst in the club
  • Logging all incidents of danger, such as accidents
  • Ensuring that no pupils are left unsupervised at any time
  • Ensuring that children receive adequate refreshments and helping to promote healthy eating
  • Supervision and assistance of pupils and their activities throughout the session
  • Assisting with any reasonable request from the FLAG Club manager
