A litte message from Miss Southwell

Dear Ennis Class and Year 6,

I hope you are all well and have had a good Easter, hopefully with lots of chocolate involved! The weather has been beautiful so hopefully you will have had lots of opportunities to be outside in your garden or going for a walk. I’ve really been enjoying sitting in the garden and walking the dog. Fingers crossed the weather will stay nice and you can keep active to balance out all of the chocolate you have been eating!

It is really strange not being in class with all of you every day, I have missed seeing every single one of you. I’m looking forward to when we all get to come back to class and get back to normal – it has been very quiet without you all!

I’m sure many of you are missing each other as well. It can be hard being at home and not being able to see your friends, don’t forget they will always be there over the phone if you need someone to talk to. You also have the year group blog on Purple Mash so that you can chat to everyone in our class as well as other people across the year group, it has been really nice to hear on the blog what everyone has been up to whilst we have been away from school.

Being at home is a great opportunity to learn a new skill or improve a current one, I have seen a few people who have really improved their drawing and artistic skills over the last few weeks. I’ve been learning some sign language at home, which I have really been enjoying. I’ve also started doing yoga – I’m a bit wobbly at the moment so need to keep practising! I hope you will all be able to choose something that you find really interesting and I can’t wait to see all of your new skills when we come back to school! Perhaps you might learn how to dance or juggle or paint or improve your football skills (if you have the space!), the possibilities are endless!

Remember just do what you can. Don’t put too much pressure on yourselves at home, things won’t always go the way you plan but keep persevering and you will get there. You are all capable of so much, just be patient with yourselves!

If you need any help or advice with anything at all, please do email our new Year 6 help email:

year6help@stopsley.primaryluton.co.uk

Please do check in with us and ask us if you get stuck on anything, that way we can explain it so that you will then know exactly what to do the next time that you have that kind of question. Thank you to all of the children that made use of the old help group emails, it was lovely to hear from you.

Also please do send me a letter back telling me all about what you have been up to, because I would love to hear from you, you can email it to year6help@stopsley.primaryluton.co.uk, please put the subject as ‘Dear Miss Southwell from (add your name)’.

Take care and stay safe. I look forward to seeing you all again soon and hearing all about your lock down adventures; try not to spend the whole time in front of your TV or games console!

Miss you all.
