We have been learning about measurement

This half-term the children have been learning about measurement. They have explored size, weight, capacity and length. They have been learning about the key features of each type of measurement, for example that something small can also be heavy. They have also  been learning specific vocabulary such as full, nearly full, nearly empty, empty, heavy, heaviest, light, lightest etc.

Last week we were investigating length. The children went on a walk around the school grounds and field and collected sticks. In their pairs they then compared the length of their sticks, placing them in order from longest to shortest.

Some children were even able to represent what they knew pictorially - great job everyone!
