On Friday our children took part in activities linked to United Nations Global Goal 15: Life on Land, exploring how we can protect and improve habitats within our own school environment
The children created maps of the school grounds to identify ways we can make our outdoor spaces even more welcoming for wildlife and support local habitats. They observed the fish in our pond, explored different types of trees including evergreen and broad-leaved varieties, and investigated ground permeability to understand how our environment supports life on land.
Our Reception classes also showed wonderful creativity and care by making hedgehog homes, helping to provide safe spaces for one of our much-loved garden visitors
A fantastic day of hands-on learning, curiosity and environmental care as our pupils discovered how small actions can make a big difference for nature.
