We want all of our pupils to have an understanding of the past and how history will shape the future. We aim to achieve this through the teaching of high quality lessons which engage and motivate the children. Furthermore, we want our children to be passionate about History and foster the ‘awe and wonder’ projected in our carefully tailored curriculum. Wherever possible, links have been made to overarching topics (eg: The Stone Age) to contextualise and motivate learners.

As a school, we are dedicated to teaching what matters and equipping children with the skills to be lifelong learners. Our lessons encourage children to engage in critical thinking, enhance the ability to weigh evidence, generate arguments and develop chronological understanding. Our topics will help the children to gain an understanding of the complexity of lifestyles in the past and the process of change as well as reflecting on their own identify and the challenges we face in modern society.
