Celebrating Diversity

On Monday, across the school we celebrated our community with Diversity Day.

In Nursery, our approach to this topic was to enjoy a range of stories about hair.

This was followed up with an expressive arts and design activity looking closely at ourselves first and then creating any face with any hair type.

One of the children created me, complete with brown skin, brown eyes and of course, grey hair!

The beautiful outcomes will be shown at the Stopsley Primary School and Nursery summer exhibition on opening evening in a few weeks time. Keep an eye on the newsletter for the exact date.

The stories we shared included Big Hair, Don't Care, I Love My Hair, The Girl Who Wouldn't Brush Her Hair, The Hair of Zoe Fleefenbacher Goes To School and Stephanie's Ponytail. These stories are all worth a read.
