DFE Keeping Children Safe in Education

Keeping children safe in education is statutory guidance that schools and colleges in England must have regard to when carrying out their duties to safeguard and promote the welfare of children. It is essential that everybody working in a school or college understands their safeguarding responsibilities and this includes Governors.

As part of the annual declarations, Governors are asked to confirm that they have read and understand the latest version of the DFE Keeping Children Safe in Education document. At Stopsley Community Primary and Nursery School, Governors receive annual training from the School's Designated Safeguarding Lead. The training was carried out at the FGB Meeting held on 11th September 2023.
