1:1 Teaching Assistant

Grade: L2

Fixed Term until 17th July 2020

Closing Date: 8th December 2019

We are looking for a caring and patient Teaching Assistant to offer pastoral support, as well as support with teaching and learning, of an individual or group of pupils that have suffered from trauma. This is an amazing opportunity for a talented and experienced individual to work one to one and make a real difference. The post is fully supported by the school’s SENDCo and Safeguarding team.

The hours are Monday – Friday, 8.30am – 3.45pm.

The qualities we are looking for are:

  •  A resilient person with some knowledge and understanding of safeguarding vulnerable children
  • A positive role model, able to support children in raising their self-esteem
  • Calm, caring and consistent approach
  • Able to support the child’s understanding of emotions, feelings, communication and social interaction (resources will be provided by school)

Assistant Site Agent

Grade: L2

We are seeking to appoint a confident, enthusiastic and reliable Assistant Site Agent to work with our Premises Manager where you will have the opportunity to learn on the job. Career progression is possible within this role for the right candidate.

The Assistant Site Agent’s main areas of work will be assisting with:

1.         Security of premises

2.         Heating and lighting

3.         Maintaining high standards of cleanliness

4.         Maintaining premises in a good state of repair

Stopsley is a forward thinking school that is continually looking to improve its indoor and outdoor environment and so this job would suit someone who has a passion for assisting with projects and likes to be creative and make a real difference.

To undertake this Assistant Site Agent role you may have some experience of care-taking duties in a general capacity. You will have basic handy-person skills and may be able to carry out some minor repairs including simple plumbing and joinery. Good communication skills are also important.

There may be a need for some regular locking and unlocking for evening or weekend lettings so a person who can be flexible, willing and helpful is a must.

Hours for this post are currently set at 30 hours per week (6 hours per day). This is a term-time post with the possibility of additional hours paid as overtime. Any negotiable overtime completed is paid at the same salary grade.

Before & After School Club Assistant (FLAG Club)

Grade: L1

Permanent

About this Role

We are currently looking for a Before & After School Club Assistant to join our team. This post will suit someone who wants to step into a career working in a school or someone who is just enthusiastic about working with children and caring for them, making their school experience a positive one. The successful candidate will work within an excellent team where they will be well led and supported, and they will be given freedom to grow in the role. The post also comes with an excellent well-being package.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be enthusiastic, caring and approachable
  • Be reliable and committed to the job
  • Have some experience of working with primary age children
  • Have excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be able to interact well with both children and parents
  • Be able to work collaboratively with colleagues
  • Be subject to an enhanced DBS check
  • Hold a Paediatric First Aid qualification (or be willing to undertake one)
  • Hold a Food Hygiene qualification (or be willing to undertake one)
  • Have a thorough knowledge and understanding of safeguarding children
  • Be willing to have fun and enjoy working with children

Key Responsibilities:

Support in the smooth running of the FLAG Club by:

  • Providing a safe, stimulating and happy environment for all pupils
  • Supervision and assistance of pupils
  • Setting up of equipment and ensuring that the setting is left clean and tidy at the end of each session
  • Contribute to the planning and preparation of activities
  • Monitoring the safety of pupils whilst in the club
  • Logging all incidents of danger, such as accidents
  • Ensuring that children receive adequate refreshments and helping to promote healthy eating
